Americans taking European Soccer by surprise

It has been a great year for Americans abroad, and Yanks Abroad has a poll of which has been the biggest surprise this season.

Of the over 3000 that have voted so far, over 24% have voted that Steve Cherundolo captaining Hannover to 3rd in the Bundesliga and possible Champions League spot has been the biggest surprise this year.

The emergence of Timothy Chandler as a viable left back option is current second at 23.5% is currently second.

Clint Dempsey in or near the top 5 in Premier League goalscorers all season (which I voted for) is currently third at 23.1%.

The combination of Steve Cherundolo and Timothy Chandler having so much success in the Bundesliga this season, and Clint Dempsey being a standout for Fulham in the English Premier League really bodes well for the future of US Soccer.
