Solskjaer to exit Man Utd for coaching role in Norway

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will end a 14-year spell at Manchester United to take the managerial role at Norwegian club Molde.

The 37-year old former star striker has been the head of United’s reserves since 2008 but will finish up in January to take the reins at the club he scored 31 times for in 42 appearances in the mid-1990s.

Although the appointment is not yet official, it seems highly likely that Solskjaer will agree to take the job for the new Norwegian season which kicks off in March.

Molde chairman Erik Berg said on Sunday night: “It's no secret that we have worked intensely to get Ole Gunnar. But we have not signed any contract yet.”

Former Manchester City striker Uwe Rosler left his job as temporary coach at Molde after saving the club from relegation.

I have also been an admirer of Solskjaer, as he has been a tremendous servant of the club at Manchester United. Although he will be sorely missed at Old Trafford if he does accept this position (as reported), I wish him the best of luck in all of his professional endeavors.
