Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has ordered his stars to embark on a grueling training routine.
According to The Sun, Fergie has shocked the United squad by putting them through their paces in extra training sessions since last week in an attempt to get them into tip-top shape in their quest to become the record-breaking league champions for the 19th time.
Ferguson, along with his backroom team, have been conducting intensive morning and afternoon sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays for all fringe first-team members of the squad who have been warming the bench regularly.
The Red Devils' supremo only used to organize double training sessions during pre-season training but with United battling on all fronts in domestic and continental cup competitions, Ferguson is keen to utilize any lull periods to work on the players' fitness and iron out any flaws on the training pitch.
