Edu scores cracker to lead Rangers

Maurice Edu celebrated his first Scottish Premier League game in more than two months with an excellent goal to close Rangers' 4-0 win over Hamilton on Saturday.

Edu entered the game in the 62nd minute and scored 20 minutes later when he took a throw-in on the right side of the penalty area, took a step to his left and blasted a left-footed shot inside the near post past goalie Tomas Cerny.

Since Edu went out, Rangers has slippe d behind archrival Celtic, falling five points off the pace but with three games in hand.

Edu's return comes just at the right time for Rangers, which has little depth and might lose star Kenny Miller to Birmingham or Fiorentina.

"We've got a lot of games coming up and Maurice Edu needs some game time," said Rangers manager Walter Smith.
