Houllier Set to Take Over Aston Villa

The BBC is reporting that former Liverpool and Lyon manager Gerard Houllier has agreed to take over at Aston Villa, which hired assistant Kevin Macdonald on an interim basis after Martin O'Neill resigned last month.

Houllier is technical director of the French soccer association (FFF) and is scheduled to meet with officials Tuesday to faciliate the move.

Houllier led Liverpool to a unique trio of titles in 2001 -- FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup -- and also won two Ligue 1 titles with Lyon.
