Dempsey Should Be Back for World Cup

Fulham manager Roy Hodgson says injured American star Clint Dempsey should return to action before the end of the season, putting him ready for the World Cup.

Hodgson said Wednesday that "his progress is good and he is working very hard to recover. The medical staff are very happy with him."

Dempsey damaged his right knee in Fulham's 2-0 loss to Blackburn on Jan. 17. He was playing some of the best soccer since his arrival in the English Premier League in 2007. He had seven goals for the Cottagers this season.

Let's hope for a quick return for Clint - his health, along with the form of Landon Donovan and Jozy Altidore, will be key factors in United States' success in this summer's World Cup
