Former University of Evansville standout David Weir has found the fountain of youth at the heart of the Glasgow Rangers defense, and Stuttgart goalkeeper Jens Lehmann raves about the former Purple Aces' form.
Stuttgart goalkeeper Jens Lehmann may be the oldest player in the Champions League at the age of 40 but even he is in awe of David Weir's ability to carry on playing in defence.
Rangers centre-back Weir, who at 39 is six months younger than Lehmann, will line up against the German at Ibrox in Tuesday's crucial Group G clash.
"I'm very impressed,'' Lehmann said. "The advantage of being a goalkeeper is that most of the time you only have to react, whereas an outfield player has to act.
"In his position he needs to chase young people, quick people. It's quite impressive, I have to ask him how he does it.''
