Seattle Sounders head coach Sigi Schmid believes it is great for American soccer that former USA national team boss Bob Bradley is being considered for jobs abroad.
The 53-year olds five-year tenure in charge of the US team was recently ended when US Soccer replaced him with Juergen Klinsmann but there has been no shortage of interest in his services with the Egypt national team and some clubs in Mexico showing curiosity.
Schmid says that it shows other parts of the football world are now taking soccer in the United States seriously.
"It's good that American coaches are being considered. I think that's a positive for the U.S.," Schmid said.
"Every team has to look at what their needs are but I think in the past people have felt that if you're an American coach that you weren't on par with a coach coming from Holland or a coach coming from Argentina or someplace like that.
“I think the best coaches in our country can coach. Coaching is coaching no matter what language it's in and no matter what country it's in. It's great. If he's able to get that opportunity it'd be tremendous because I think we have coaches who can coach beyond the United States if that opportunity presents itself."
